Where can I do some research and comparisons between tire models?

Tire reviews are best done by yourself. Each tire will feel a bit different to every rider based on his perception and riding style.

Go with what works for you, not somebody else.

I couldn't disagree more. You'd could spend $5k to find the best tire on your own. Magazine reviews (several) have always been a good source but for some reason, they seem to be in short supply this year. Culling from reading, people seem to like BT014's, Pilot Power's, and Diablo's quite a bit among this year's crop.

Research may not find you the best tire for your bike and your ride, but it'll give you an outstanding pick on the first try. A good place to start is a model specific website or forum. Not sure why the magazines didn't step up this year.

Well obviously a quality tire is a good place to start. I wouldn't recommend Dunlop 208's or these shit-piece Shinko brand tires we sell to anybody.

But, as far as quality tires go, like the ones you mentioned, I feel it's more rider preference than anything.

I am a Michelin man all the way ..... The Powers Suck

at least the front, too hard in the middle, I need a softer tire, spoiled by race tires...... speaking of which, I just run my track tires on the street!

I run M1 Sporteks. I think that they are great! All I have to compare them to are 208's however, which is not much of a comparison. I've also heard great things about powers, and I think that they will be my next set. (on second set of sporteks now.)

The only bad thing about the pilots is there life span, but feeling secure about there performance while riding them is worth it.
